New Graduate OT role – Community-Based Private Practice, Sydney
No billable targets- ever!
About the role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed new graduate applicants to join our growing team on a permanent part-time or full-time basis. Whilst our clinical focus area is in home modifications, this new grad position will foster the growth of clinicians across a range of community based interventions.
The role will involve:
Working with a community based adult caseload across a variety of aged care, disability and insurance based funding bodies
Providing occupational therapy services to clients across the lifespan, presenting with a range of physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions, disabilities, injuries and co-morbidities.
Administering occupational therapy assessments in the areas of; functional capacity, cognitive capacity, functional mobility, environmental modifications, assistive technology, falls prevention, and community access.
Writing reports to detail assessment outcomes, including preparing high quality technical diagrams using CAD software.
Travelling across all areas of Sydney, Greater Sydney and regional communities in NSW.
Designing, planning and implementing interventions to meet client goals using a range of best practice approaches and evidence-based assessment tools, including, but not limited to environmental design, equipment prescription, functional skill building, and capacity building.
Working as part of an allied health team and activiley participating in caseload management, multidisciplinary team meetings and a collaborative model of practice.
Engaging with relevant stakeholders including building professionals, case managers, support coordinators, home modifications providers, and equipment suppliers help your clients achieve their goals.
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Registration with AHPRA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Working with Children’s Check
Current Police Record Check
Australian driver’s license and access to a vehicle (minimum 2 year driving experience in Australia with a full drivers license)
Desirable Criteria:
Experience use of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) programs ie OTDraw, SketchUp, Visio, AutoCAD, OTSketch
Experience working within a community private setting in Australia
Knowledge and understanding of the My Aged Care (MAC) and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) funding schemes
